This website is the result of a journey that started with syndromic surveillance in animal health (Dórea, Sanchez and Revie, 2011). As the field developed further, it became evident (see Dórea & Vial 2016) that we should move beyond syndromic surveillance, towards a more comprehensive framework of data-driven surveillance, a term I credit to Dr. Crawford Revie, my mentor.
